The First Trailer for "Strange Angel"

CBS has released the first trailer for their upcoming drama series created by Mark Heyman "Strange Angel." The series was created from the book of the same name written by George Pendle. The series is inspired by the real life story of Jack Parsons and explores the intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction.  The plot of show is as follows:

"Jack Parsons (Jack Reynor), a brilliant and ambitious blue-collar worker in 1930s Los Angeles, works as a janitor at a chemical factory but dreams of building rockets that will take mankind to the moon. As he helps pioneer the unknown discipline of rocket science by day, by night, Parsons is pulled into a new occult religion created by Aleister Crowley, performing sex magick rituals to bend the world to his will and make his fantastical dreams a reality."

The first episode of the show is directed by David Lowery (A Ghost Story, Pete's Dragon). Lowery is a tuff director to peg down. He takes on very interesting and unique projects and I am excited to see what attracted him to this project. More importantly I am a big fan of Jack Reynor. He has been my number one young actor I have been keeping an eye on. I loved his role as the older brother in the film "Sing Street" as well as his strong performance in the film "Detroit." He has not had his break out role yet but I am sure it is coming and maybe his role in this show will be it. I wanted to let you all know about this show because its premise and talent behind it peaked my interest. 
 

"Strange Angel" will premier on CBS, Thursday June 14th with new episodes weekly.
